The site contains this page because "Il fuoco imperfetto" (play on words in Italian: The Imperfect Focus or The Imperfect Fire) is also a novel, or, primarily is a novel, a story. It is a story that I wrote to satisfy my desire to create, my desire to tell stories, entrusting the role of the main character to a real wildlife photographer.
The novel is a reflection on the theme of seeing and looking, on voyeurism as a defence from life, as a trick for escaping from life, and also on the big risks of excessive looking rather than living. For these reasons I tell a story about photography and painting, about ambiguous image contents, about iconoclastism and its religious and philosophical meaning, about spending a long time in a hidden hut, about certain obscure esthetical obsessions and fetishisms…
